Family First

My two daughters, armed with their tastebuds are the bakery's ultimate taste testers. Every one of my baking experiments is subjected to their scrutiny.  Since I don't often get many complaints, I must be doing something right! My treats disappear at an astonishing rate so I am often heard exclaiming ,"You guys ate (8) it all??"  That's how Bakers 8 came to be!  The added bonus, which Mum pointed out, is that the number 8 is extremely lucky in our culture, so it is the perfect name.

Tradition & Culture

I was born and raised on the island, city, country of Singapore, lucky enough to be immersed in the food and culture of Southeast Asia.  Most of my early love for cooking and baking was influenced by the strong women of my family - my grandmothers, my aunts and most importantly, my Mum.   Surrounded by these women, cooking up a storm during large family gatherings and special holidays like the Lunar Chinese New Year, was what led me down my own culinary journey. I love that I am able to incorporate Asian treats and food into my baking repertoire!  It is reflective of where I am from and what I grew up with. It is very exciting and  I am thrilled that I am able to share it with you!

My home bakery Bakers 8, is giving me a wonderful opportunity to use my passions and whisk it into a melange of love and deliciousness.  I cannot wait to start this journey with you!  My mission is to share my love with you through food! I am filled with both excitement and fear but with a little bit of luck from the lucky number 8 and my love for baking - let me serve you some homemade treats…one bite at a time!
